How to Unlock your Vehicle

You can replace the Volvo key fob batteries yourself by following few easy steps. Choose a clean, dry surface to work on. Set out all the tools that you will need. Locate the battery hatch and make sure that it is set to "open." Make use of a flathead screwdriver or coin or a similar tool to make the hatch to open. Then, carefully pull out the battery by lifting the side closest to the key-ring hook. Wear rubber gloves to protect the electronic contact surfaces.
Place the new battery in the socket after the older one was removed. Make sure that the positive end of the battery is facing upwards, and the clips are all seated. Install a new battery in its spot and connect the fob.
Note: Older Volvos use a different type of battery one called the CR2025. CR2025 batteries have the thickness of 7/10ths a millimeter less than a CR2032, so you'll need to be extra careful when replacing your battery.
